Here at Allo Coffee Roasters, we're always pushing the boundaries of what coffee can do, and this time, we couldn't resist diving into the viral world of the Tiramisu Latte. This decadent recipe apparently originated in a bustling cafe in New York, and since then, countless versions have popped up all over the internet. We were ready to put our own spin on it!


Straight up, the Recipe

Ingredients

  • Mascarpone Cheese: 1 spoon
  • Heavy Cream: Around ¼ cup
  • Vanilla Syrup: 2 spoons (1 for cream, 1 for coffee)
  • Sugar: 1 spoon
  • Espresso: Double shot of our First Tide blend
  • Milk: Your preferred milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • Cocoa Powder: For generous dusting (but maybe less than we used!)

Steps

  1. Prepare Mascarpone Cream: In a bowl, combine 1 spoon of mascarpone cheese, ¼ cup heavy cream, 1 spoon of vanilla syrup, and 1 spoon of sugar. Use a frother to mix it all up until you get a beautiful, creamy consistency.

  2. Brew Espresso & Mix: Pull a double shot of espresso using our First Tide blend (we chose it for its rich chocolatey notes, perfect for this combo!). Mix in another spoon of vanilla syrup with the hot espresso.

  3. Assemble the Latte: Pour your desired amount of milk into a serving glass. Carefully add your vanilla-infused espresso.

  4. Add Topping: Spoon a generous dollop of the mascarpone cream on top.

  5. Garnish & Serve: Finish it off with a generous dusting of cocoa powder. And there you have it! A beautiful-looking latte. But how did it taste?

Our Take: Viral for a Reason!

As you can tell by our delighted expressions, we were pretty happy with how this drink turned out! Even though we might have gone a tad overboard with the mascarpone cream and cocoa powder, the flavor was still incredibly well-rounded.

The cocoa powder perfectly complemented the coffee flavors, giving the latte a truly full-bodied taste. Meanwhile, the mascarpone cream added a very pleasant and rich sweetness that elevated the entire drink. Overall, considering how easy it was to make and how genuinely delicious it tasted, we'd give this Tiramisu Latte a solid 9.5/10. We can totally see why this drink went viral!
